Interesting shot shalu. Are those snakes venomous?-?
My granddaughter’s cat dragged an adder into her house one day, everyone went into panic mode - the adder had injuries but slithered away somewhere.:-)

They sure look like ravens, but can't say for sure, Shalu. I've never seen them eating a snake before, but I know that they will eat most any kind of animal they can find. Like people, they are omnivorous.

Nice Bleeding Hearts behind that mallard, Rob. Which of you two (you or Amy, not you or the mallard) is the green thumb? :-)

Typical N. Mockingbird, always wanting to be at the top of things. This guy give you any vocalizations, Mike? When they get going, it's really a good show.

Love the colors phil.

P.

Thank you. It was kinda cluttered, but I'm with ya - I liked the color blend. :)

Love the thistle foreground, and the nice detail in the Finch, Phil!

Thanks Matt!

Another great shot - what are you using for focus in your 500 - center point focus?

P.

Thanks again. For the last couple posts, I used Single Point AF. On the D500, I have the BBF button programed to Group AF, the PV button programmed to Single Point AF, and the Center Sub-Selector button programmed for D25 AF. That way, I can simply press the button for whatever AF mode I need, in an instant.

In cluttered scenes like these, the only way to get the subject "I want" in focus is using Single Point AF.

Terrific shot, Phil.

Thanks (as always), Mike! I like your Mockingbird image. We have so many "mockers" here (it's our state bird, after all), & I rarely photograph them. I need to find ways to capture them creatively.
