Nice sequence Paul. That's a lot of splashing for one little bite.

Thanks Mike.

Well that would have to be Blue Peafowl, also known as Indian Peafowl, the national bird of India ( But you knew that already N.V.M . ;-)a )

The Great Spotted Woodpecker silently landed on the fence no more than 10 metres behind me and then let out an almighty call which made me jump. He did it on purpose as I was about to take a sip from my coffee. Thankfully he let me take a photo of him before he left.

This photo is as it came out of the camera. Only converted it from .CR2 to .JPG

Not sure of the species, but was told by a totally unreliable source, that this bird is a cross between an Indigo Bunting and an Emu.:-)

Beautiful bird Mike, but I think your unreliable source had his crosses wired up wrongly :p
Our Emu's would cringe in horror :-(
I've heard of lame-duck excuses but........ :p

This Grey Shrikethrush (Colluricincla harmonica) had just nabbed some scraps we'd thrown out, well for the birds!
Depth of focus seems to be very shallow for some reason?
Maybe its movement. He was trying to kill it.

Yes N.V.M. I was vaguely aware of peacock being the male of various peafowl species. So the one I posted is Pavo Cristatus I think.

LD, or Mike
Often mistaken, but never in doubt.
