Cornell Lab says that the male looks after the fledglings while the female lays eggs in a second (or even third)l nest. These two were singing together, wonderful songs.

Very nice shots, Mike. I never knew that fact about the mockingbirds. I just assumed both parents cared for the young. Interesting.

Black Phoebe playing Marco Polo with his buddy on the other side of a stream in Munds Park, AZ. There were wildflowers on the bank 20 feet behind him, hence the colorful background.

The Hawfinch always seems to find the most darkest areas in the heavily canopied forest

I missed a lot of shots yesterday, despite it being nice and sunny. The forest was a dark place to be and difficult and slow to focus.
