Thanks Mike. I have not tried the Sigma. In May, I entered my favorite camera store (Foto Forum, Phoenix) with cash in hand to buy a new Canon 100-400mm, but a trusted store employee, along with a customer who already owned a Tamron 150-600 G2, strongly suggested the Tamron. I decided to go for the extra reach while saving $1,000.

I'm really happy with the lens, but I always do some sharpening in lightroom as per Anthony Morganti's videos on youtube. My guess is that everyone does some post production sharpening, though.

Thank you Mike. I appreciate your answering my question about the Tamron 150-600 G2. I've been intending to purchase the Tamron or the Sigma for quite sometime now. I keep flip-flopping back and forth between the two. But I guess it's basically the old Chevy, Ford question. I am very impressed with your results using the Tamron lens, but I know that the great results you get are really due to the photographer, and not so much with the lens itself.

Like you, I do most of my sharpening and noise reduction in Lightroom CC, but I also do subtle sharpening in Photoshop as a last step in my pp work flow. Old age has definitely affected my vision, and as a result, I'm sure that images I think are fine, really might be kind of soft.

These are all excellent images, Daniel. I can't help but notice the single drop of water hitting the surface of the pond and creating a cool effect in Photo #1.

This is a Spotted Crake, they are very scarce in the UK. I was very lucky and fortunate to see this bird.

Wow...What a nice close-up shot, Glynn. I like the little water dropletts on the bird's head, and the sharpness is great.

Thank you very much, Mike! It was actually taken with 600mm + 2X, since the lens is still not in the POTN database.

I keep forgetting about the 600mm not being in the data base. When I shoot with my 500mm plus a 2X, on a tripod...I don't get the amazing sharpness that you do hand holding your 600mm plus 2X.
Very nice, Shalu.
