I keep forgetting about the 600mm not being in the data base.:oops: When I shoot with my 500mm plus a 2X, on a tripod...I don't get the amazing sharpness that you do hand holding your 600mm plus 2X.

Mike I do not believe you will either, not due to you at all. The newer lenses with the 2x seem to work so much better. I think if canon comes out with a new 500mm, you would see a big difference with the 2x extender.

Great shots but no 2 is my favorite from both viewpoint as well as timing . Really shows off the colors . ANd that is a sharp Nikkor 500mm 5.6 you have there ( I looked it up in flickr as there is no specs here and was interested what you shot with) . I could tell it was a long prime by that look only primes give but wasnt sure of actual focal length . Ive heard a lot about this Nikkor lens . Great weight and good resolving power. Certainly can see this in the lensIQ ....They also say its a dream for handheld in flight shots. A guy I know has one and he recons his keeper rate has gone up considerably with it . Whereas mine went down considerably when I got my 400mm prime :)
