This shot is lovely, Tom. In your various images of the lovebirds, I've noticed that these birds really interact with one another more than I see with other species. They look at each other, and make contact in what appears to be an adoring manner, similar to higher evolved mammals

these were swimming around my lunch spot
I was watching a couple of swallows flying about and swooping up insects.
It made me acutely aware of the skills you BIF people have - mind boggles, but the results show on that thread

Your observations are correct about these little beauties. I'm not an ornithologist by any means, but the Rosy-Faced Lovebirds in my area seem to be part of a tight-knit group of about 8-10 birds. I've rarely seen them all by themselves. These birds are part of an ever-evolving set of wild birds that initially started with an escape or purposeful release of them from an aviary in the Phoenix area many years ago. They are fun to watch and photograph and are far more colorful than any of the native bird species found in the Sonoran Desert area.
