The bird was very harshly backlit and I always forget that one is supposed to use flash to counter that - but I do wonder whether flash would spook the bird. Guess there's only one way to find out. I'm not an ornithologist by any means, but the Rosy-Faced Lovebirds in my area seem to be part of a tight-knit group of about 8-10 birds. I've rarely seen them all by themselves. These birds are part of an ever-evolving set of wild birds that initially started with an escape or purposeful release of them from an aviary in the Phoenix area many years ago.
