I could see movement in the reeds but couldn't see anything. I approached closer and there in front of me well camouflaged hidden in the reeds was a Bittern. I myself had full camouflage clothing on. Both of us remained completely still. I was convinced I saw him before he saw me because after 5 minutes he started edging out of the reeds. I was too nervous to raise my camera in case he went back in the reeds. He eventually showed himself completely and to my surprise started walking towards me. He stopped looked around and raised his long neck. I then took the opportunity to take some photo's. The closest I have ever been to a Bittern
