We spent some time at a resort in the Dominican Republic. It was nice but not the best place for bird pictures. In fact, the best place for birding in the resort was in the main lounge. Here are a couple of shots of the resident grackle.

Not exactly portraits but these owls continue to absorb me.

I found these two quite close to each other. - the one looks to be a female (on the hay bales) and the one hiding a male. They were on opposite sides of the road a few hundred meters apart.

Both taken at quite a distance (snow drifts and pvt property) handheld with a 1.4 converter.
