Amazing series Shalu.
A master fisherman caught in action by another master of his craft. Exceptional.

Thank you very much for your kind words, Richard!

You post so many outstanding shots, I almost start taking them for granted, Shalu. Then I think, " how difficult would it be for me to capture images like you get?" The answer is virtually impossible. That's when I get my dose of reality. Just keep them these incredible images coming, Shalu.

Thank you very much, Mike! I appreciate your compliments.

Can it be done?

Bittern (Britains Loudest Bird)

In the last few weeks I've been lucky and privileged to see Bitterns close at Westhay on Somerset levels and Slimbridge (Gloucestershire) from a hide. I've seen them several times over the years at these locations but on both of these occasions they were ridiculously close.

I read that numbers fell to below 20, 20 years ago in the UK and they have made a remarkable comeback in the UK to 162 at 78 sites.

The turnaround in the bird’s fortunes has been helped by legal protection of habitats and funding through two environmental projects under the EU Life scheme to create new reedbed area's for them to live in.

This one was so close I couldn't fit it in the frame. luckily I had time to take the Teleconverter off and get some great shots.
