I see them use there beak in a way to gesture at there fellow grosbeaks but I've never seen the bite each other or any other bird. Some gesturing junk images MedicineMan4040 wrote in post #18232813 Wow Pondrader that is a stunner!!! That color scheme of the Grossbeak (???) is really proud looking. Now school me since we might see one a year. the beak looks quite powerful--are they dangerous/aggressive toward other birds? We're not traveling this off and hoping to head to the cabin for SNOW!! I think I'll take some feed up and see what I can draw in. 3000 feet higher so maybe new critters entirely. Image hosted by forum (832770) © Pondrader [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. The Evenings are very skittish and one must use a blind most of the time. I've been using two different blinds but the Dog House still win's. I put it out about an hour and a half ago. I did shoot a leucistic Chickadee this morn lol GeoffSFAs10 wrote in post #18232854 If i had birds like this i wouldnt mind the snow. I tried to get a good shot of it this past weekend, there was a leucistic goldfinch came to my feeders. This is the second time I have seen this guy, and then 5 minutes later the leucistic house sparrow showed up. but POOR shots of both were had. They dont belong in this thread. Now I'm into leucistic. there seems to be more and more of it around.. Image hosted by forum (832778) © Pondrader [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. OK not a bird portrait, not even close, not even a bird in it and worse, not taken with a Canon! But a promise to Levina to take a pic of the tree. Just a tree? Well it didn't grow in my backyard. I found it a mile away at a neighbors, had it moved here. It is about 15 feet tall, is mounted on a metal pole running underground to a ton of concrete. It is now part of the bird studio and you've already seen images of birds on it LIke the last maleCardinal and the Blue-J below posted previously. Hopefully I'll get some snow soon for more pics. So you too can have your own tree just for the birds (and snakes, squirrels, maybe even a hawk ![]() ![]() ![]() Robert! You remembered!! Wild Birds of Europe
