Note: the EXIF info for my recent images shows "Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS". I'm actually shooting an FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. The POTN gear database needs to be updated.

Not sure what causes a pupil to look like that. It was this way in several (all of this goose) shots, and both eyes were the same...???...

Could it be related to having a thumbnail on his bill?

Tom Reichner wrote in post #18995949 (external link)
By the way, there's been something I have been wondering about this thread for quite some time, and I figure now might be a good time to ask:

I see lots and lots of bird photos posted here that aren't really portraits, even though the title of the thread is:

"Post your Bird Portraits"

So I am wondering, is it really okay to post bird photos that are behavioral, and not portraiture? . I want to make sure that if I post to this thread, I am strictly adhering to the OP's parameters. . I would hate to start a thread with strict parameters, and then have people post things that do not fit what I asked for. . The OP probably feels the same way, and I do not want to post anything that falls outside of his/her vision for the thread.

.

.

Post whatever bird photos you like Tom, there is everything posted here from the carefully set up to the random grab, from the carefully posed to the chock full off birdy action and from seasoned veteran birdy togs to the new with a kit type zoom type. There is no critique here just celebration of everyones efforts.

Well that's my opinion anyway! :)
