Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Mar 15, 2020 17:31 | #56418 S2kAtTracks wrote in post #19027142 I was finally able to cross the Waxwings off my list yesterday. Had 35+ in the backyard This photo shows about 20-25% of the tree where they also hung out at for a bit Looks like the waxwings found a candy store. PCousins wrote in post #19027176 S2kAtTracks.....How wonderful it must be to have Waxwings in your own Backyard. And so many, And your photo's are fabulous......... The Uk gets a few hundred waxwing visiting over the winter months from Scandinavia but they normally arrive in Scotland and only a few make it down South. In 2017 there was a small flock that arrived in Bristol City SuperMarket. They were on the trees in the Carpark and attracted the shoppers. They stayed for a week and Whilst I was there the local press and TV station turned up and interviewed me. They wanted to know about the birds and why so much interest. Yes I did get on the local TV station. I’m the tall one on the left. http://www.bradleystokejournal.co.uk …anger-berry-trees-felled/ Soon after the 20 trees in the Car Park were cut down see the headline. It caused an uproar as you can imagine. The Manager of the Store said they were cut down for Public Safety reasons. The Super market claimed the trees were in a poor way, which was not the case as many photo’s were taken of the trees showing them to be healthy and full of berries. The Press contacted me a week later and wanted my views on this matter. Well you can imagine what I said…..Totally dissgusting were the first words I used. That Morning I was contacted I received a £60 fine through the post for parking there for just over 4 hours. You can imagine the mood I was in. I cannot say what I said. They refused to print my Statement. One of the photo's from 2017 ![]() Waxwing Fabulous shot of the waxwing eating berries, Paul! What a sad story about the loss of all those trees. I too, would be really pizzed about that. And what a lame excuse the store manager gave you! Very nice capture, Archi. Since the duckweed is so thick, he must be using his feet to feel for fish and other aquatic dwellers. Wcube wrote in post #19027312 Mourning Doves, pardon the background as I attempted to remove a fence. A couple of nice mourning dove shots, Walllace. And the two downy woodpecker images are really great. And yet another really nice hummer shot, Shalu! It must take a bit of waiting to get their red throats to catch the light so nicely. Bill in Texas wrote in post #19027388 See if a hosted shot resolves better. It does, I deleted the other attached to the forum shot. ![]() This is a very appealing shot, Bill. The resolution here is great. Wonderful shot, Shalu, but I can see that he's really bored with you! LD, or Mike

Very nice work especially catching the flower petals in the beak. Tom Tom, thank you. I agree. I knew the shot was sharper than what the forum attached shot showed so I tried from my Flickr page. Food for thought in the future. Bill being Smug
