While surfing the web today, I happened to stumble across the fact that today (March 20) is World Sparrow Day. Well let's celebrate and take our minds off the more dire news we're faced with by posting some Sparrow photos. Here's one of mine to get everyone started.

I'm far from expert on Sri Lankan birds but I'd say it's a crested serpent eagle, Spilornis cheela. Lovely picture through the foliage too.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
