Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | May 21, 2020 02:12 | #60617 TRhoads wrote in post #19066477 great camouflage on that one! I have been making the back yard more bird-friendly over the last couple of years and it is starting to pay off. Might have to hire air traffic control soon. A couple from today. Male Downy Woodpecker Sat around waiting for this one...the Yellow Breasted Woodpecker. I can distinguish the call in the trees, and they like to hide just around the tree edges but it finally came and landed on one of the new perches. Still waiting on the big Pielated to come back, I saw it yesterday but no chance to get a shot off. A couple of really nice shots, Travis! kd_reno wrote in post #19066590 ![]() Brewer's Blackbird Terrific capture, Ken. You really caught his subdued colors that are rarely seen. To most everyone's eye the brewer's blackbird just looks black. LD, or Mike

MatthewK Cream of the Crop More info | May 21, 2020 05:40 | #60625 Glorious prismatic capture, the pose and light angle perfectly demonstrates all of the beautiful traits of this bird. Not to mention, the water in the background has a nice pattern to it too.

Just look at how many different colors there are in the plumage, what a beautiful bird! Definitely a challenger to the Superbs as my favorite Tasmanian bird!
