great camouflage on that one!

I have been making the back yard more bird-friendly over the last couple of years and it is starting to pay off. Might have to hire air traffic control soon. A couple from today.

Sat around waiting for this one...the Yellow Breasted Woodpecker. I can distinguish the call in the trees, and they like to hide just around the tree edges but it finally came and landed on one of the new perches. Still waiting on the big Pielated to come back, I saw it yesterday but no chance to get a shot off.

A couple of really nice shots, Travis!

Terrific capture, Ken. You really caught his subdued colors that are rarely seen. To most everyone's eye the brewer's blackbird just looks black.

Very nice, Shalu! You've been using some different lighting and exposures lately. I really like what you've been doing.

Beautiful image. The light, the pose, it is striking.

Thank you very much, Mike and Randy!

Glorious prismatic capture, the pose and light angle perfectly demonstrates all of the beautiful traits of this bird. Not to mention, the water in the background has a nice pattern to it too.

This appeared from nowhere and was gone in a flash. I swung the camera and was surprised I got anything ;-)a

Excellent, Richard! Just look at how many different colors there are in the plumage, what a beautiful bird! Definitely a challenger to the Superbs as my favorite Tasmanian bird!

I love the painterly look to this image, the contrast of the Finch against the spring colored foliage and bright lighting are a pleasure to take in.

Super nice shot, Bill...I really like the setting.

Thanks, Mike. Throw some dead limbs in the yard and let bird seed sprout around them. Nothing to it.
