Mike I'd say you do very well to get a shot of a Quail in that pose and low angle. If they're anything like our Quail that disappear in a mad whirring.

Despite that it's a really nice, low down shot of an intriguing bird.

Well done.

I suppose once they would have been fit for the table (plate) only

This shot gets a 10 star rating, Richard!! It is so nicely composed, the background is excellent, and it's sharp as can be.

Thank you so much Richard. Your kind compliment is greatly appreciated. Quail everywhere are such spooky birds. The slightest fast movement sends them off in a flurry. I love the challenge of shooting them with a camera, but I also love having a couple on my dinner plate.
