I figured out basic Content Aware Fill! Thanks for the suggestion, Dennis. Here is one of my efforts.

I tried to get rid of the downward-pointing spur on the extreme left but did not succeed. The CAF did not do its auto work. I got a message to "Use the Sampling Brush Tool", which I think I did, but nothing was working. I suppose it takes longer than 10 minutes to learn PS!

Mike, much more from this pond/lake please, its real art. Very beautiful and artistic the way you capture these.

Thank you very much, Neal. The pond is definitely on my schedule...assuming it doesn't completely dry up with the incredibly hot weather we are having (106 to 108 all week).

Darn thats as hot as here. Does it drop at night?
It’s wicked here with humidity at 63%+, and from 113 -115. Drops to around 99 at night.

Thanks Ray. Much appreciated :-)

This is a cool bird. I saw it for the first time at New Orleans Zoo and didn't realize it's indigenous to Australia.

Interesting. Wouldn't have thought they'd make it to a zoo. They are beautiful birds. At times with a characteristic gait. As though they have hiccups.

Beautiful shot Tom. Love these quails. You've captured it very nicely.

Another really nice capture.
Beautiful interaction between them.

Hi Ed

Well I am impressed that you were able to get up to speed so quickly, PS CC is such a functionally rich application it can be quite daunting at times, well done.:-)

I had a go at removing the downward pointing spur at extreme left and did not encounter any problems. Here is the result.

What a superb series of bird behaviour photos, stunning detail and clarity with lovely poses.

Cheers

Dennis

The CAF Tool in PS CC selected the Green Area in #1 which included some of the bird's feathers, so I deleted those selections with the CAF - Cursor (you can see the Circle with the - in the middle selected in the Icon Bar) and #2 shows the modified Green Selection.

This helps reduce unwanted pixels from being sampled to fill the area.

Cheers

Dennis

Holy crow...and I thought I had it bad. You gotta be tough as nails to handle that kind of heat, Neal. Most of our nights stay in the 70's.
It's currently 104...a bit too hot to go out and shoot this afternoon when it's 106-7. What can I say. I'm a wimp.

Thanks! When I tried it, that green area did not appear. I just got that message. Will have to try it again. Contrary to what they say about trying the same thing over and over again, that is often how you get things to work. :-)
