This is one of your best drake wigeon shots in my opinion, fotoi. It's very sharp, and full of wonderful color. Plus the bird is beautifully posed.

Agreed; 100%

Thank you muchly Richard! Okay, so you've figured out my act. But most all my bribery deals with humans, and only with bird when I absolutely must. :p

Love the reflection that has an oil painting feel to it.

Looks like your R5 takes good pictures;-)a. I wasn't sure how it would be with the 100-400, but now I wish I'd pre-ordered on day one.

Nice shot, of the ringer, Ken. I got the new 100-500, figuring that's the way to go. But using them both back and forth on the R5, I'm currently liking the results I'm getting with the 100-400 just a bit better than the 100-500. One of the reasons could be because of our terribly smoky skies due to all the forest fires burning around us in California. One day it's kinda clear and the next day it's terribly smokey. On the smokey days, the lighting is really bad. Right now it just seems harder to get sharp focus with the 100-500. When I get more used to this rig, I may change my opinion.

Thanks. Lots of smoke on this side of the hill too. I was trying to figure out whether the R5 was a reasonable alternative to better glass with my 7D2/5D4. I've tried the 400DOII and the 500/4II and liked the results, but I'm getting too old for the extra weight. The R5 would stretch the toy budget pretty thin, so I was pleased with how well it worked with the 100-400.
