They are too heavy for me so it will never happen. To drown my sorrows I just ordered a 24-70/2.8 II for my baby photography business. Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

For me carrying it and holding it is not the problem, finding the $$ for it is! Ed

We were in Costco yesterday and they were having a big jewelry sale. The lady was pushing me to look and I said to her "Oh, I am not into jewelry of that sort but I do love me some expensive glass." Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Completely wild and NOT baited because she catches stuff just fine on her own. This is the 4th year I've been photographing her and some of things she's done around me baffles my mind. She ran up to me again this morning as she was looking for something in the grass she went after. She got within 8' of me and just sat there and looked at me then looked away back into the tall grass...I wish I had a shorter lens because I couldn't focus on her when she got so close so I just sat there and watched her. Best Red-Tailed portrait I've ever seen Duane. What a great experience, thanks for sharing. Steve

I've seen better Steve (the dof got me with this portrait) but thank you. This is an amazing wild hawk to photograph so she is usually my first stop when I'm out running around. Some days she's there, others she's not. I tend to leave her alone when she's molting and when she's raising her family. I know where her nest is but because her mate dislikes attention I avoid the nest area and have kept it's location to myself other than two people I know and trust and approach photographing wildlife the same way I do. There are far too many asshats around me who's only concern is getting their shots and leaving no matter what the cost to others and the wildlife.

Duane are you saying you believe animals that are baited loose their ability to hunt for them selves ?? And I believe you are experiencing something millions just can't rap their heads around. Man and beast can interact and both come away better for it. I do it all the time with many critter's. But I spend all my time between food sources and the subject I'm interested in shooting. But I'm not one who believes the baited animals can no longer fend for themselves. Jeff ........, 7D, 70-300L, 100-400LII

Unfortunately asshat disease is rampant, I have select friends that I share similar things with. I know they'll show respect to the animal and preserve it's tolerance of humans. Around here if word gets out about a nest the big lenses swarm like bees. Steve
