I've not seen a Pheasant here yet, although I'll admit I haven't checked every page.

Archibald You must be quackers! More info | Feb 21, 2017 16:33 | #6662 itsallart wrote in post #18280108 I love this forum, though I never shoot birds myself...well, let's say maybe rarely. I have a question: why would mother nature give a bird such a bright red eye? I assume the bird is not completely drunk ![]() Being a wild bird, the red stands out for predators' convenience. Just thinking loudly Thanks. It's something many of us wonder about. I have the book "Bird coloration" by G. Hill. It talks in great detail about the role of color to camouflage, attract mates, identify, signal, and so on. I read the whole book and still can't tell you why the grebe's eyes are red. There really is no general answer. Look at the variance of eye color in owls. Some are dark, some bright yellow. Why? Don't know. A very versatile lens. I only sold it because the tightening ring kept coming loose causing the lens to creep. After 2 repairs during my ownership, it put me off when it needed a repair for the 3rd time. Would be nice to see Canon bring out a Version 2 model. Thank you. I don't use mine often enough flickr
