These were taken with a Beamer, if it isn't obvious. I sometimes like to freeze the wings in position as they look like tiny ballet dancers. Probably not hummingbird hoyle, but whatever. I just wish I was good enough in PS to get rid of the shadows without ruining the picture, but I don't spend a lot of time in that software.

Very nice shot here, Richard! I like the white sky in this image. It gives this one a different look that is cool.

Many thanks Melissa, James & Mike for your appreciation & kind comments

Another beauty. These images of eagle are so nice.

Yesterday, we had (a tiny bit of) snow which is incredibly rare in our area. As such, I wanted to see if I could get some shots with an atypical feel.

When I saw this fella, I thought it was one of our common Red-Bellied WP's. However, his behavior was a bit different than I'm accustomed to. I attributed it the snow.

When I got the images onto the computer, I realized that it was not a RBWP afterall, but instead a Golden-Fronted WP - a 1st for me! :-) After looking at the images for a bit, it became obvious that this guy has a shorter torso than the RB's and he holds his tail feathers different and they may be shorter too.

Beautiful series Phil.
Lovely setting and climatic conditions.

You've been stuffing that pigeon with your left-over chips, haven't you Ray.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

I must admit - Probably, we do tend to let it pick over the scraps - although it has competition with the crows and sparrows et al. Here it is confronted by an iced-up watering hole.

Something different in the garden this morning! A Jay. Looking at this reminds me of how much the grass is going to need cutting when it dries out!
