Since no one has offered to guess, the young birds in the nest box are bluebirds in the first photo and chickadees in the second one. and all successfully fledged.
And last year we put a bluebird box in a different place since they were driven out of the one pictured here by house sparrows and later on the box was occupied by Tree Swallows.

Did I ever tell you guys I'm not a birder, but I absolutely love this thread. Just every time I come back
something beautiful to admire.

New record yesterday. 9 Cardinals out back at one time. Think there is a market for them ???
But a little Tit came in close enough for me. Still my favorite is the Mockingbird, gotta be the smartest
bird we have. They just don't freak and fly, and let me get within 10 feet....they know where the food comes from ;)

I knew I planted that tree in the front yard for a good reason. It's nice to have a little snow on the ground to lighten up their belly.

Here's one on the ground eating. It picked a cherry off the ground and tossed it up to catch it. You can see the shadow of the stem across it's head and back. That will be dealt with before swallowing it.

Nice waxwing shot! Have you considered using the brush to do NR on the background? It will really make the bird stand out even better.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I have Photoshop Elements but prefer to edit with Microsoft Digital Image. Feel free to play with it and repost it if you wish.
