Peter2516 Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 26, 2021 22:03 | #71240 kartsahoo wrote in post #19186328 Great shot. I also have found it pretty challenging to shoot this species. It fuzzies around really fast, non-stop. johnfosteruk wrote in post #19186323 Gorgeous shot of a gorgeous bird Peter. We have relatively low numbers in the SW UK but we do see them. They're too far away to travel for while we're in lockdown though so I've not been out to see them yet this winter. I am so lucky to see one here in the US (PACIFIC NW). Hope this lockdown will end soon for all of us. Pippan wrote in post #19186324 Oh my, how cute! Thank you so much everyone. Peter

Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Jan 26, 2021 22:58 | #71243 Many thanks, Dave! I appreciate the kind comment. fotoi wrote in post #19186633 Beautiful shot, Mike! Your kind compliments are always greatly appreciated, fotoi! Thank you. amyandmark3 wrote in post #19186641 Excellent duo Mike! Your encouraging comment is truly appreciated. Thank you kindly, Mark. brian_sp wrote in post #19186644 BEAUTY...i am happy when i get to see one, and that is rare, i'd die to see a pair like this Thanks for your comment, Brian. In my neck of the woods I see woodies fairly often. I have the kings and the San Joaquin rivers fairly close to where I live. I frequent them; plus a park that is right along the river. These areas have good numbers of wood ducks most of the year. edmidlifecrisis wrote in post #19186662 Great match up of the heads of both those males......color explosion!! Ed...I was pleased to see the match up of their heads, but it was nothing but dumb luck. I do frequently use a duck call to gain their attention and get them to look at me, plus I can sometimes get ducks in flight to turn and come towards me; thus allowing the chance for some BIF shots. Photomstolen wrote in post #19186689 Wonderful shot Thank you very much Mike! I always appreciate your very kind, and encouraging compliments, Paul. They are definitely much appreciated. Peter2516 wrote in post #19186762 Great shot Mike. I love Wood ducks they are so pretty next to Mandarin ducks imo. Many thanks, Peter. I agree...wood ducks are right next to mandarin ducks on the "pretty list." LD, or Mike
