Thanks for your comment, Brian. In my neck of the woods I see woodies fairly often. I have the kings and the San Joaquin rivers fairly close to where I live. I frequent them; plus a park that is right along the river. These areas have good numbers of wood ducks most of the year.

I see many species of birds that others post here on the forums, and I never (or hardly ever) get the chance to get decent shots of them. A perfect example are owls. I only have a small handful of great horned owl images, but I've never been able to capture any other owls. It's frustrating. :-(

i know what you mean about the various birds, i have a lot on my bucket list that are like the wood ducks for me, when seeing one in a season is a good season
