European starling

Very attractive shot, Dave. Living in snow country gives you opportunities for some really wonderful bird photos. This starling is a good example.

I really like this one, Tom! The cactus gives it a little extra oomph. I also like the background in this shot.

The term "I can't remember," is one that I use many times a day, Steve. I can't remember how many times I've used it already today!

.
I am still fortunate to have some cold weather here. . I'm trying to make the most of it, because once it warms up a bit, our winter birds leave and there won't be very good bird photography around here for a while. . Winter weather with snow and ice absolutely rocks for good bird photography!

Here's a Tundra Swan walking atop the river ice, taken on Wednesday afternoon.

And here's a Hooded Merganser, taken in the same spot on Thursday afternoon. . This time, the blue ice is behind him. . Once the ice melts, photos of ducks on the water won't look anywhere near as nice as they do with the ice in the background.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Tom these are both beautiful nature shots.
Their natural environs adds much appeal.
The Merganser is a beautiful bird and yours is crisp and details very nice.
No doubt the atmosphere helped :-) Brr!

Wonderful portrait of this hen mallard, fotoi. I like the new bright green color in the water.
