I'm down (but not completely out) with crappy throat fun.
I'm so glad I have the bird feeders less than 20 feet from my bedroom window. (I love watching these guys)
This is the feisty Carolina Wren that braved the "Cowbird Invasion."

Some more of the birds that my granddaughter Jade worked with at the World Bird Sanctuary near St Louis where she has just finished an internship. She arrived back home in Brisbane yesterday and is already planning her next adventure. There'll probably be more pics from the WBS to come, knowing her.

I remember you posting photos of her in an Australian zoo. How did she like her US internship?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

She loved it. She reckons that she learned more in 10weeks there than she learned in 3yrs at Australia Zoo. The Staff there were wonderful and she had the chance of a green card and longer stay but wanted to get back to her German Shepherd...............and her Grumpa (as she calls me) of course :-)

The ornithologists are indeed considering a proposal to change its name to "ring billed duck". Finally.

I have had to heavily crop this photo of this beautiful Advocet as it was amongst dozens of ducks.
