AND FURTHERMORE!!!!

Crows are very social animals and one can observe a lot of communication between them. However, they can quite aggressive too, as demonstrated here where the crow on the left is getting a major dressing down from the one on the right. I don't think I have ever seen a bird actually wince or look forlorn before...

In between equipment. Sold off some of my EF lenses and extenders as I am going mirrorless and waiting for my RF 100-500mm. So of course had a huge flock of Bohemian waxwings show up to strip the last of the berries from the bushes in my yard. Lucky I still have a Powershot SX50 and managed to capture this one before they all left.

Ok, so this is probably cheating. Close to 100% digital magnification in PhotoShop and a run through Topas.

Grey (White) Goshawk Accipiter novaehollandiae
This beauty had caught a baby rabbit that was on the ground below it.
These are not uncommon around here and about 2 km away is a creek named Whitehawk Creek.
I don't know why it was called that but assume due to the presence of these birds.

This beauty for some reason did a tight walk along the wire. I've a series of photos as it walked gingerly but cleverly along the wire.
No idea why it didn't just walk along the timber strut?

The Grey Goshawk is a medium-sized raptor (bird of prey), with two colour morphs (forms). The grey morph has a grey head and upperparts, with white underparts barred grey on the chest. The rounded wings are grey above, white below, and have darker wingtips. The medium length tail is grey above and white below, barred grey. The white morph is pure white all over and is often known as the White Goshawk.

Wow...a white goshawk! This is truly a gorgeous bird. I didn't even know they existed, Richard. This truly is a beautiful hawk. Very nice capture, for sure!
