Thanks Mike--I am still getting used to the R5 capabilities. The R5 offers a lot of opportunities to shoot differently. Electronic shutter at 20 frames per second is what allowed me to capture this shot and at 900mm! Pretty cool--thank again-Mike!
rich

It's funny that you mentioned the electronic shutter, Rich. I haven't even tried one single time to use it. I'm definitely going to give it a go, and see if I like it. I've been happy with the mechanical shutter, because 12 frames/sec. is really all I've needed. Sometimes old folks are slow to try new things.:-(

Two excellent blue jay shots, Wallace! They are both very sharp and the color is terrific!

Nice job Mike, they are not easy birds to get. They never stop hopping around.

Thank you, Rob. They are indeed hoppers...and frustrating at that.:-)

This bird is very attractively marked too.
The colours are interesting.
Very nicely composed.

Thank you muchly, Richard! I was very pleased to get this bird. They rarely stay still long enough to get a shot off.

Great capture of a strikingly beautiful bird, Mike!

Many thanks, Steve. I get very few chances at these guys.

Never seen one before.
Sitting down to dinner on an overcast day, after putting oranges out for the baltimore orioles...thought it was a purple finch at first, until I realized it's size.

Very nice shot, Cog! I like the composition of this one.

These are both great captures, Rob! I love your shot of the jay. They've always been a favorite of mine...wish we had them out here where I live.

These guys are such neat looking birds, Richard. Nice capture! That stout looking bill can deliver quite a punch, I'd imagine.:-)

Very nice hen portrait, fotoi! Her hair style is unique...not like the other hen wood ducks. That usually is the result of some rough mating's.

Both are beautifully shots, Matt! Carrying your daughter, strapped in front of you will teach her to learn the names of many of the birds you shoot, at an early age. :-)

Terrific shot of this white-winged dove, Tom! I do wish we had them here in California. That orange eye with the baby blue color around it, is very pretty.

A-Number-1 shot, Bill! Beautiful composition.

Terrific capture of this little beauty, Steve!

Absolutely wonderful shots, Steve! Very nicely captured.

These are two beautifully captured shots of the burrowing owl, Paul! The sharpness is excellent, and the background is great.

Nice hen wood duck capture, Mark! I like the lighting you were able to get.

Thank you for the kindly compliment Mike. Many Happy trails
