This is a lovely composition, Mike! You've truly captured the head colors of the male, always a challenge, I think. Though they don't have the flashy coloring of the male, I find the small female buffleheads quite attractive with that single sharp white cheek patch. You've expertly portrayed the species here.

Steve...thank you so much for this incredibly nice compliment you paid me. However, you are definitely over-rating my photography skills. I think of myself as a pretty much average photographer who grabs a decent shot every now and then.

Thanks very much Mike, I don't know if I've seen any rainy photos from you, it always seems to be sunny, does it rain there? ;-)a

I laughed when I read your post, Sid, and actually it doesn't seem like it rains here at all. Unfortunately we are in a record rain shortage year, and will be undergoing some pretty harsh drought measures from now until we are able to fill our lakes.

Lovely shot, Bill! Beautiful warbler!

Nice one Bill! This shot reminds me of the famous picture taken of actress Marilyn Monroe, with her dress being blown up by the wind.

Thanks, Mike.
