I am very new to photography and don't even own a DSLR - just a Lumix ZS40. I see all the beautiful photos on this forum with the wonderful detail and compare them to my very amateur shots and I now see what could be. Yes, I think I've been bitten by the bug and will now throw countless dollars and hours into this wonderful past time. :-) The shots of this Cedar Waxwing fighting with a piece of string were taken from about 75 feet, handheld through the glass window of my sunroom.

It was this forum that finally sent me over the edge into the DSLR world a few years ago. Head over to the Bird Talk forum on this site and read the Sticky Post "Free textbook for beginners". That post helped me out a lot.
