In the Bateleur, I really started to see a lot of similarities (despite the obvious significant differences) The brighter distracting colors, the scaled armored legs, I jumped to the conclusion that looking at the two we are looking at two very distinct stages of the evolution of snake eating raptors. The Bateleur (and other snake eagles) have yet to decide to stop hunting from the sky, a decision that the secretary bird made thousandths of years ago. GEAR LIST
