Thanks Bjarne.. The Loon here is kind of an Icon, Living in a land of many lakes and rivers people grow up hearing the Loon at night doing their call and it has charmed their hearts into loving them so.
I just happen to have a pair that nest in a cove that I can get quite close to. And if your there at the right time on the right day the chicks are born and you can get some super stuff. I'm just glad I was there at the right time on the right day.

I just want to see one before I die. We've image 12 species now but the Barn Owl I'm afraid is on the way out in many parts of the world.

I have been spoilt we had some near us this year and took photos for 30 days on the bounce. I just love them. One night this young lady was walking her dog through the meadow with two Barn Owls flying round her, when she came past me she was in floods of tears. She had never seen one before and thought they were so magical it made her rather emotional. I hope you get to see one they are special.
