They are very rare to see in the UK. I was reading about this bird and what surprised me was that they would eat other small birds, they will impale corpses onto thorns therefore making it easier to pick at their food. I think most of the shrikes do this impaling behavour. Every winter we get a Great grey in our local patch. Never managed to see it but there are lots of photogs toting 600 and 800 mm around looking. Yes Lester your right I just recently saw a few youtube clips of shrikes doin' this. This bird has been around everyday for 2 weeks now in South Gloucester.
