Trik Goldmember More info | Feb 14, 2018 13:05 | #14347 I like the second shot best, although both are rather dark on my screen. We haven't had any Waxwings in southern England this year, so : lucky you!

I have recently started using a monopod with my 300mm f/2.8 and 2x extender. It's a bit of a pain, as, extended, I find it awkward when walking about, but, if collapsed, I might miss a good opportunity while I set it up.

I just make sure the lens/camera is secure and rest it over my shoulder when carrying. "He's Just This Guy, You Know?"

Waxwing Waxwings are fairly common here. They are usually hanging out where I am not. I search for them and mostly miss them. One day I was sitting on my back deck, and I hear the distinctive call. They were attacking my neighbors holly tree. I ran inside to get my camera, and they were gone by the time I was back outside. I am convinced they did that to me on purpose, just to frustrate me a bit more. Larry Hendler
