Outstanding! Love the point of view.

I think that is a Winter Wren, which is one of my favorites due to I never see them. :)
Nice shot because they are very hard to get because they are never still, like I need to tell you. :)

I'd never heard of a winter wren before, they're just wrens here, but you are correct it is 'troglodytes troglodytes'.
Thanks.

I didn't know about the "troglodytes" thing, that's pretty cool, I just thought that troglodytes were cavemen... heheh
I had a Brit tell me what it was when I took a shot of one, I had no idea at that time either.
Thanks!

Little Green Eating Machine

The dragonflies at this place were HUGE! I have a shot of one that 'appears to be' over 8" in wingspan, for me, that is really big. This is a dragonfly nymph that is having a bad day... The nymphs were everywhere, hanging from every stump I could see, this one Greenie was smart, he would just go around and grab 'em!

Taken at Village Creek Drying Beds

Black shouldered kite from today. Taken at the local Sewerage Treatment Plant which has the distinction of being only second to Kakadu(NT) for greatest no of bird species in one place in Australia ( 250+) . Stunk like hell today I think due to Green Algae in ocean near shore but who cares if its great for birdlife... Although these kites are more attracted to field mice than they are anything to do with the added "nutrients" in the water:)

. A must visit if ever in Melbourne . https://www.melbournewater.com.au …s-western-treatment-plant (external link)
