I took this photo in Bronx, NY today. Can't find anything that matches this in my North American field guide. The best I can guess is female Ferruginous Duck? Which is an eurasian species? That's the best I could come up with from a google search. I can't guess what else it could be? Am I seeing things? Does this mean anything if it is a Ferruginous Duck in the US?

I think your ID is correct. Most likely an escapee from a zoo or a private collection - but you never know:-)
Great photo!

Great photo!

Very possible. All kinds of ducks are common in captivity, and escapes do happen.

Your ID is spot on, It's a female Ferruginous Duck.
