I have two birds that I would appreciate any ideas for identification.. Firstly, I apologize for the crappy pictures... I tried my best to get better, but I failed...

This bird was small... Pigeon size but it was fast... My first guess was a sharp-shinned... But with the mask, I am not certain. I have other pictures which are less in focus that this of it flying. If interested.

This bird was huge... It was a slow flyer... All the red-tails were swooping low... This one was high... I thought it might have been another red-tail but based on its size I am not sure... I thought it might be a juvenile bald eagle since we have those, just not around here. I also considered a golden eagle because we have those as well, but not this close to where I live... I have more less in focus pictures of this bird as well...

Any help, would be appreciated...

Thank you so much...

Thanks!! Bald eagle? That's surprising... This environment isn't really the type for a bald eagle... Interesting...

Yes, and during winter they can show up in weird places. I had juvie a couple of years ago feeding on what remained of a deer I had butchered in my field, and I'm about eleven miles from the nearest river.

How about this? Red-tailed hawk or northern harrier? Again, sorry for the bad pics...

It's a female northern harrier. And heaven help you if you've caught the bird photography bug!
