I suspect that this image was hand held. Despite the Image Stabilization, a one-second exposure is too long to hold a camera steady enough for a sharp shot.

I suggest using a tripod or bracing the camera against or on a solid object like a wall in order to stabilize the camera for a sharp shot.

Thanks for your comment. I don't have a tripod but will try and use the bracing suggestion where walls are available.
