In the Winter of 2008 my best friend was studying abroad in Hamburg. So we met up in Amsterdam for a few days, went to Hamburg for him to finish a couple exams, then traveled to Köln, Brussels and back to Amsterdam. Here are several of my photographs from that trip. 2008 was the year I bought my first DSLR, so I was still learning how that thing worked. Although some of these images were actually taken with the camera built into my Nokia N95 phone. Here are the photos in more or less chronological order.
First visit to Amsterdam:
Amsterdam Cafe
Haarlemmersluis
When we were in Köln (Cologne):

Ostensibly, this trip was about searching for great beer in Europe. We found a lot, of course. And I have many beer shots, mostly with my phone in horrible light. They are nice mementos for me and my buddy, though terrible as art. So I'll just include one, from Brussels in Delirium Cafe. Delirium Cafe is purported to have more beers available than any other bar in the world. This was my first visit, but I've been back several times since.

Back to Amsterdam for a night before I flew back to the States...
