Even with 18mm I couldn't get all of the towers and domes in one shot. So I shot a bunch of shots to stitch them later. Even though they are distorted I felt it necessary to compose the towers in the shots. I'm a newb when it comes to pano's and architecture, so I tried to correct the distortion, but this is as far as I got.

This one is a a 9 shot stitch. This one I composed in the middle on purpose. Not usually the way to go, but I thought it worked in this instance.

This is the view west, this one has a lot of distortion. I wanted to get the Église Saint-Pierre cathedral in the shot, as well as the west dome. The Église Saint-Pierre is a pretty hefty cathedral in its own right, but as you can see it gets dwarfed by Sacre Coeur. I think it is 15 shots stitched. Your eyes don't deceive you, there is a massive crack in the dome.

The View looking South East. I think 12 shots were used here.

The View South West. I wanted to get the Eiffel tower in the shot. It is the little thing under the sun. I think 12 shots were used here. Your eyes don't deceive you, there is a massive crack in the dome.

I really wanted a straight on shot, but in order to do that I would have had to shoot the floor under me, and the roof over me, and it would hanve looked wierd. Plus I was running out of time.

I have never seen the church from this view before and i hardly recognized it, despite that I've sat on the steps a few times.
Very nice views, and there's very very little evidence of stitching. Well done.
I get a slight impression that on your last photo the horizon is dipping a little on the left, but this could also just be the sky merging at the horizon.

How did you ever get up there ?

Yeah you are right it is dipping. I din't notice it, thanks for pointing it out. I will have to fix it when I get home as I'm on my break at work ATM. There is room to work with, to rotate it.

As for how I got up there. You can pay to go to the top. It is 8€ to climb the stairs of the big dome. Couple the fact that there was no lineup at all, and 8€, and the eiffel tower was 2 hour lineup, and cost 30€. I think it was well worth it. However being as it was built over a hundred years ago there's no elevator. The steps are very steep, and is a very narrow spiral staircase with 300 steps, so I was pretty winded by the time I got to the top.

To give you an idea of the scale of the stairs, each notch on the pillar on the right, is the width of one stair, and there are 300 of them. My camera bag is resting on the 3rd rung down, which is just below waist height. I'm 5'10"
