Why can't flashes just get along.

Probably just a rant, but it is frustrating.

Godox and others keep coming out with all these cool ttl/hss lights and then hamstring them with crappy wireless setups. Why don't they just put a foot on the flash that lets me use my own ttl slave unit? They already have the tech because they make ttl hotshoe flashes now.

It would really be nice if I could mix something like a couple of ad600's with some 600ex-rt's without building a Rube Goldberg machine to control them. Would certainly make rigging lights much easier.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Heya,

I know what you mean.

I just use Yongnuo transceivers so I don't care what lights are hooked up, they all work together, be it ETTL, HSS or manual and all off camera, from my transceiver on camera. I mix all kinds of lights, speedlites and strobes alike, etc.

Very best,

If manufactures start putting a foot on these TTL/HSS studio strobes, so that you could use a TTL radio receiver to control them, you know that some idiot is going to try to mount it in their camera's hot shoe, and then sue the manufacturer when the hot shoe breaks away from the camera.

I have no problem with manufacturers using their own proprietary wireless systems I just wish they would do a little more research to find out what features consumers want rather than keep cramming down our throats the same ole, out dated, uncreative, 3 group, TTL ratio's BS. I have already ranted about this myself many time's so without repeating myself I will just provide the link to my last rant: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17814474 . I will keep ranting until these manufacturers do a more thorough job of polling flash users or at the least call me so I can set them straight. Fat chance either of those are going to happen so we are stuck with manufacturers cranking out uninspiring lighting systems with limited possibilities and me ranting. ;-)a
