For sale is my EF 100-400L IS (version 1). This lens is a deal for anyone who likes a sharp lens that has some cosmetic issues.

The lens is Canon date code UT which makes it about 10 years old. The offer is for the lens, tripod foot, hood, both caps, pouch, and box. I don't have the styrofoam bits for the box or the manuals etc. I've had this lens for the past five years and all of the signs of use were there when I got it.

I'm not sure how to rate the condition so I will just describe it. The lens works great, super sharp with fast and accurate AF. The IS works as expected for this older version. If you want a lens that works well, this is a good one. I can also send you sample images (subject to my own talent level :p) by email.

The glass is pretty good, but there is a small scratch in the front element...maybe 4-5mm long and nothing that has ever affected an image. There are a few specks of dust inside the lens that have also never made any difference.

The paint is worn off some of the sharp edges of the lens in a number of places. I'll include a picture trying to show this. It isn't like a ton of paint is missing, but the lens sure is not LNIB either.

The hood has superficial scratches all over it. If you have lenses that have been in bags a bit you know what this looks like. The hood also goes on kind of loose, but once on the hood will stay in place.

It's a good lens, and because of the cosmetic issues I'm offering it for a great price. This is a deal for somebody who wants a 100-400 and isn't going to obsess about the paint. Asking $725 and I'll pay the Paypal fees and ship it within the continental US.

Great price, I'd also like to add that I've handled 2 UT date code 100-400Ls in the past and both were very sharp. Must have been a good year.
