Thanks Lester
Yours are fabulous.
They're taken the miniature to the next level with their ornate canopies etc.

A very nice collection of steam powered devices you have captured. Are they from some sort of Carnival?

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

They were fortunate they had it last week.
Next week would have seen it cancelled.

Lester I'd be interested too in what yours are about

Crossness Pumping Station. Abbey Wood. SE London. UK.
This is a Victorian Cathedral to steam.
There are four engines - Named after Queen Victoria, the Prince Consort and two family members. It must be nice to have human excrement and sewage engines named after you.:-) - but such were the times.
Opened 1865 and the engine - Prince Consort - was decommissioned in 1953. It has now been restored and working.
A few of the pics I captured a few years back. I have just got round to editing them.
I have a short GIF of the beams working but couldn't get it to run on this page - any ideas?

The Cathedral. Engine room housing. Not exactly imposing at first glance - but wander inside.

Worshippers in the Cathedral - heads respectfully covered. The cast ironwork is absolutely magnificent.
Upper floor the beam floor. Engine on left is 'Prince Consort' fully restored and working.
Lower floor the pumps, cylinders, pistons and steam etc:

Engines awaiting restoration. I hope the Victorian architects got their 'slide rule' and 'log table' maths OK to support the weight.

Ray that's all very impressive.
The Victorian era certainly had magnificence.
The wrought and cast iron workings with paint is very beautiful.
These highlight that. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Richard - What a massive and time consuming undertaking by dedicated volunteers to even try and restore that lot.
I do remember when I first started work I had to maintain the comms at two or three local pumping stations with beam engines.
I was trying to post as a series, but it didn't happen.
