I got my Canon email newsletter today.

It was mailed 1/7/2016.

All the discount promotions in it expired 1/2/2016.

Is this intentional?

Or just incompetence.

No wonder Canon can't compete any more.

The newsletter was emailed 1/7.

Here is the link (external link) to "current promotions" that was in the newsletter

Looks like at least one of the offers is still active (PowerShots) and would probably be the reason for the email to be sent.

Sloppy on behalf of the Canon database marketing team? Probably...and it happens with database marketing a lot.

Indicative of overall incompetence of the company? That's a stretch...

Look before you leap. Most of the rebates expire on Jan 30 2016. Nine listed six are good until
Jan 30 2016.

This link takes me to a brochure where ALL the offers expire on 1/30/16. One printer rebate expired on 12/23/15. You had to buy the printer by 12/23. The rebate is still good. Not seeing the issue.

They changed every one of them. I sent Canon a nasty tweet before posting here. They must have reacted to it. ALL previously expired 1/2/16.

I looked at the list one hour after you posted and there were only six with expiration dates of
1/30/16 now there are eight. Canon has indeed made some changes since your original post.

For all the hate-mongers and those who gleefully express doubt (and even disbelief)

@canonusapro tweeted this (external link) at 5:10 PM 1/7/2016:

"@FineArtPic We are in the process of updating the website to reflect the current promotions. Please check again later. We hope this helps."

We're done here.

Edit: Thanks, Canon. Appreciate it. I tweeted Canon a thank you and officially retract my label of "incompetence."

Apparently, so. But now I feel guilty being so snotty to begin with. They turned out to be honorable and responsive. (Sigh...)

Very big of you admit this.

I guess we expect to be ignored and are surprised when someone actually listens.

Good on you for expecting more.

Makes you kinda taken aback when it happens, doesn't it?

I find this ironic as no one in the thread expressed those sentiments more strongly than yourself. Is your house made of glass by chance?
