It seems there are a few on this board who use this lens, either on their A-mount or A7 series cameras. This is a page to share images and experiences with this ~30 year-old lens.
I found mine online, shipped from Japan for $630 in what I would say is in 7/10 condition cosmetically and 8.25/10 optically. No haze or fungus, but front element has some scratches. I have used mine on the A77 and with the LA-EA4 adapter on the A6000 and the A7R.
Coming from using the EF200 2.8Lii on a 60D, T4i and 6D I feel the HS 200 2.8 is very comparable in most every regard. While I could not get the Minolta to track on my A6000 and A7R via the adapter, it did track ok on the A77. Word is that it tracks much better on the A77ii and the second-series A7 bodies. I have also heard it tracks better with the LA-EA3 than the LA-EA4.
Much like the EF 200L, it is short enough to get into many professional sports venues and it features a retractable hood--but it is white, while its Canon counterpart is black.
At any rate, here are a few pics to start things off.
