I took my camera back to the place where I bought it at this past Sunday. They checked to see if the internal battery was the problem since one of the guys who worked there thought that could be it.

What kind of store did you buy it at that has a capability to check the internal battery? Here in the Philadelphia area stores that do service are few and far between. Many stores would like you to think they have this expertise but they rarely do looking more toward the sales angle.

I guess it was the internal battery, but on the paper that says what they done to it, wasn't very clear on what the problem was. It mentioned something about replacing the battery and they also cleaned it. I got the camera back on Jan. 31st. When I got back home, I checked it to see if it worked right. The battery was holding a charge just fine, BUT the camera would not focus or take a photo. Basically, it wouldn't do anything! I was very upset because the camera was working just fine when they got it other than the battery not holding a charge. The next day, I took it back to ABT where they checked it out and after almost 2 hours of waiting, they finally told me something was seriously wrong with the camera and they will need to send it back to Canon. Its been over a week and I still don't know anything.

The name of the store I bought the camera from is ABT. They have a lot of electronics in the store....cameras, tvs, stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc. They do repairs there, but apparently its just small simple repairs. I guess replacing the internal battery was something they could not do since they had to send it to Canon in NJ.

I finally got my camera back! i think its fixed this time. Apparently, the internal battery was part of the problem the first time as to why the battery kept draining and it would not keep the date and time. I never was able to get a straight answer tho. Anyway, I got my camera back this past Saturday. The main board had to be replaced.
