Wonder how long is until they start renting the space in front of her tank out for weddings?

bannedPermanent ban

I can see Wikipedia lifting all the photos, since the octopus, not the trainers, owns the rights.

:):) Actually, I believe the courts just ruled, the images are in the public domain as the octi can't own the copyright. :):)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

The website says it is a she.

The octopus learned quickly how to push the shutter button, but does she know what it does?

Next question: does an octopus chimp?

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

I believe jgl was referring to the monkey selfie case:

http://metro.co.uk …ht-of-its-selfie-5405523/ (external link)
http://www.irishtimes.com …ght-judge-rules-1.2492700 (external link)

The court did decide that the law constructed by humans for humans did in fact apply to only humans. Which is a bummer since I wanted to charge the neighbors' dog with malicious mischief or criminal property damage and it now appears that approach is likely to end in failure. Perhaps that's why none of the lawyers would call me back ?????

(disclaimer: this is merely a lighthearted commentary and not to be taken as an interpretation of the court's opinion)
