Such a stupid title right? Well it's for a simple question:

Do any of you X-T10 owners regret not getting the X-T1 instead?

I've been looking more and more into the fuji line up for a backpacking/kayaking/bike touring. Right now I take my Canon 60d with sigma 18-35, canon 50, and tokina 11-16 with me for trips. That set up, without a tripod, is just over 5 pounds......not exactly light when you consider my backpacking based weight is around 10 pounds! (kayaking and touring base weights are a bit higher) I could cut a good amount of wight by switching to an 18-55 STM and 10-18 STM lens combo for trips but I haven't been too impresses with the 18-55 STM and the 10-18 is too slow for night work. I used to use a Panasonic GX1 for trips and loved the size, but I wasn't impressed with the m4/3 sensor.

So now I've been doing a ton of research into more mirrorless options and I've found myself lusting over fuji. I've ruled out mirrorless options from sony, canon, olympus, and panasonic. At first I really wanted to go for the x-e1 since it can be had for a good price on the used market, but have since ruled that and the x-e2 out. That left me with the x-t10 and x-t1. I really like the size (just slightly bigger then the gx1) and the price of the x-t10 ($600 less for the 18-55 kit...$600 is a lot of backpacking trips!).

The issue becomes, the more I look into fuji the more I start wondering if I just want to completely jump ship to fuji (as much as I LOVE my sigma 18-35 and 50-150 those fuji 16-50 and 50-140 lenses look amazing too). If I do go that way, instead of it just being my trip camera, will I regret getting the x-t10 instead of the x-t1? Will I regret not having the bigger EVF, the larger grip, a detected Iso dial, and the larger buffer?

So again I ask you X-T10 owners, Do you regret not getting the x-t1 instead of the x-t10?

For its intended use in my lineup, I wouldn't want the smaller X-T10. The X-T1 (and Fuji lenses) are already half the size/weight of my Canon gear and, for my use, I wouldn't want to be fiddling with anything smaller. That's what I have an X100T for. If you've got small hands, or really need to save space, I could see the benefit of the T10. OK, and price too.

I tried out holding both the X-T1 and X-T10 today @ the store, and for me the X-T10 was just to small for my hands to feel fully comfortable.
I would have to get a handgrip for it(haven't tried it), and that one costs $129.

So for me if I would switch to Fuji today and it would be the X-T1

I can't talk too much about the XT-10 as I have not used one. But I do own the XT-1 with 18-135 combo. Both are weather resistant and the system is VERY versatile. For those three activities I would think you could do no better.

At least that is my thought on what you stated, but then again it is not my money either. Switching is always expensive. I would consider the XT-1/18-135 combo for it's weather resistance and versatility if I were planning on those kind of activities.

Yes you can get better performing lenses like the 16-50 and 50-140 that you mention but they would add weight and not give the versatility required for those activities. For strenuous activities such as these I would think a one camera/one lens combo to be the easiest to use. I would think the 16-50 and 50-140 would be for less strenuous activity where weight and size are not a factor.

The x-t1 with 18-135 was a serious contender. But I rarely need anything past 50mm when on trips and when I do 135mm wouldn't be enough either. I tried my 50-150mm on my last kayaking trip. The majority of the time it was either too long or not enough.

The 16-50 and 50-140 would only be to replace my 18-35 and 50-150 if I were to switch systems. They wouldn't be for trips. The only reason I use my 18-35 for trips now is because there is no really good 18-55 option for canon like there is for Fuji.

The two lenses I'd be using would be the Fuji 18-55mm and rokinon 12mm. Neither of which have weather sealing so the weather sealing on the X-t1 is kind of a moot feature and not something I'm taking into consideration for now.

My main issue with the size is I have no Fuji dealer anywhere close so I can't even try them out first. At 5'4" I don't have the largest hand though either (wear a medium glove). So I doubt either would be "too small" since the panasonic gx1 was a nice size and its smaller then the X-t10

Everything in me is saying save the money and go with the X-t10.....but the X-t1 is just so sexy and I like the dedicated ISO dial and larger view finder! LOL

Well with the release of the X-E2s, and the new firmware for the X-E2, I'm going to move away from the X-T10 AND X-T1 and settled on getting a used X-E2 or a new X-E2s.

A little smaller, a little lighter, and a little cheaper...the main things I'm looking for! This will let me test out the Fuji kook-aid to see if I want to jump in all the way (at which point I'll get an X-T1)

Thanks for the help everyone.

The feature set of the X-T10 doesn't bother me, but the smallness of it does ... it's great that it's small and lightweight, but I feel clumsy handling it (perhaps my hands are too big!).

I just recently purchased an XT10 and it feels a bit more secure in my hands compared to my Olympus E-m5.

As a secondary system i do not mind the size of the XT10. Since this camera is not intended for 6-12hr events photography I can deal with the small size.

Function wise and IQ wise the XT1 isn't gonna provide me better files. That being said I'd rather buy a cheap bolt on hand grip for 20-30 bucks and call it a day.

I do not care about an ISO dial since you can access ISO setting in a split second via "custom button". Larger viewfinder would be nice but that is not a deal breaker

For the price difference of the xt1 vs xt10 you can almost buy a 27mm f/2.8 and neewer handgrip at the same price of buying an XT1.

I purchased the 16mm f/1.4 and I'll justify the $$ and consider that I got a $350 discount off the lens since I bought an XT10 over the XT1 :) Isn't buying camera gear all about justification :P

Honestly I wouldn't mind buying the XT1 but in all honestly now that I'm loving the fuji line for my secondary system I'll consider the Xpro2 but spend alot more beans.
