I had hoped that buying a 50/1.4 would make photography at indoor pistol competitions easier. Unfortunately, I tried it for the first time at a match famous for a lot of "low light" stages.
I tried a few stages at ISO-3200 but wasn't very happy with the results:
I set my camera at Tv 1/160 and ISO800 for most of the match. That almost always had me at f/1.4 ... which meant a very narrow depth of field and a lot of soft shots. Even then, most of the shots were half to a full stop underexposed.
