I like it. I prefer the first one more. It doesn't look bright and happy, which adds to the effect IMO.

I agree... The subdued colours in the first one really add to the mood. Nice shot!

Edit: Hmm... Does a black+white version work well at all? There doesn't seem to be that much contrast but it might be interesting to try.
